Julyann was a competitive swimmer from the age of 8 years. She held state competitive swimming records from the age of 9 years and she held 4 state records in high school. She also received a full swimming scholarship to Western State College in Colorado. During her college swimming career, she swam at the national level where she was 10th in the nation for NAIA schools in the 100 meter backstroke and the 200 meter backstroke and was All American in both events. Julyann was the head age groups swim coach for 3 years in Montrose Colorado and was Assistant Coach and Head Coach for 2 years for the Ahwatukee Swim Team in Arizona. Julyann has had the opportunity to teach swimming to people from the age of 6 months old to 82 years old, and continue to pass on her passion for the water to people she teaches.
